This restaurant / bar is a very unique kind of venue, one that doesn’t to justice on words and pictures alone, but an experience that must be had in person. Ran by two lalafell owners, who are husband and wife, this place has different functions depending on which level you’re at. Now you’re probably thinking “different functions? What?” and I’m here to show you how awesome it really is.
Upon entering the establishment, you are treated to a very unique setup. A mini counter, and some low ceilings. Needless to say, one of greater heights should be wary of their heads when approaching the counter. Heavily influenced by the decors of Kugane and Doma, yet hints of a modern aesthetic seeps through the corners, giving the traditional style new life as the new carries the old into a new era of style.
In a very ingenious use of limited horizontal space, the owner has transformed the vertical component of the establishment into a very rustic, simple, yet creative design that fully utilizes the entire space. Having wooden tables furnished by the finest Doman carpenters, situated on top of wooden platforms, that are actually repurposed as floors, allows the wood finish aroma to gently surround you, as you partake in delicious meals that not only smell good, but combines with nature’s greatest asset to enhance the overall experience, whisking you away into its arms.
After a night of drinking and eating, what better way to end the day than having a nice dip into a bathhouse, and that is exactly what this establishment has in its basement. Upon entering, the sight of colourful and animated marine life instantly transports you to the waters of Tamamizu in the Ruby Sea, where fishes of various sizes greet you at every turn. In the middle of it all, is a small pool, with waters warm to the touch, yet hot enough to cleanse you of any foul elements. It is also here, that one of the two owners, Chinchoppa Chinchoppa, cheerfully guides you along the bathhouse, every step of the way.
So if you’re ever looking for a more luxurious getaway than the Bokairo Inn in Kugane, why not stop by the Doma Doma Lalafellin Restobar and soak yourself away, both mentally, and physically. This is one experience, you really shouldn’t “short” yourself.
